you feel far away
they call us cellophane friends we
talk through the nothing
and bounce back the light
you are some other place
with squares and boots
and everything is hard, hardened
cut and dried and
right
so do i
i feel difference in every
consistency, blade of grass
book, cheekbone
torn from comfort into familiar
and my mind won't make up
new worlds, dimensions
it used to
but it is already
somewhere else
so wrap me up
asphyxiate me if you can
and you can
but you won't
because thin film friends
are still friends, and
brothers still share blood. strangers
cannot give up.
and that's what this is.
stranger.

sometime when we're not distracted by EMO, i'd like to discuss what this is about.
whoa you changed your blog title. i would comment on the specific merits of this poem but the phrase "talk through the nothing" reminds me of the song "talking through glass," which is on thrice's new cd, so i got distracted
